Evidence Dossier · Women’s-health products
Have a claim you don’t want to drop? Build the evidence to keep it.
A rigorous, critically-assessed evidence pack for a single ingredient or benefit — the science you need to stand behind a claim, defend a sales page, or win a retailer conversation. Honest about how strong the case really is.
For brands with one specific claim or ingredient to substantiate. Bring the claim — I bring the evidence. No formula required; this is about the published science.
Why it matters
“Trust me, it works” is not a defence — and dropping the claim loses you the sale.
What it is
A focused deep-dive on one claim — with an honest verdict.
I take a single ingredient or benefit, gather the published research, and critically assess it — not cherry-picked abstracts, but a genuine appraisal of study quality and relevance. You get a structured dossier that tells you plainly how strong the evidence is, and exactly how far a claim can go on it.
What’s included — and what isn’t
Clear scope, so you know exactly what you’re buying.
Included
- Systematic search of the published evidence on your ingredient or benefit
- Critical appraisal of study quality, relevance and consistency
- An honest evidence-strength verdict — how defensible the claim is
- Claim-mapping: what wording the evidence will actually support
- A full, cited reference pack
- A plain-English summary you can hand to a retailer or your marketing team
Not included
- New or original research, or clinical trials
- A formal EFSA health-claim dossier submission (company-level work)
- A guarantee a regulator will authorise the claim — evidence strengthens your case, it isn’t authorisation
- Legal advice
This is the rigorous groundwork: what you need to defend copy, satisfy a retailer, and know where a claim truly stands.
How it works
Four steps to a defensible claim.
Scoping call
The exact claim or ingredient — and where you need it to hold up: an ASA challenge, a retailer’s compliance team, or a sales page.
Systematic search
I gather the relevant published evidence, not just the studies that flatter the claim.
Critical appraisal
I assess the quality, relevance and consistency of the research — honestly, including what it doesn’t support.
Dossier & verdict
I compile it and tell you how strong the case is and how far the claim can safely go.
What you get
Evidence you can produce on demand.
A structured document built to be shown — to a regulator, a retailer, or a customer.
- Structured literature dossier — the evidence, organised and assessed
- Evidence-strength verdict — can you defend this claim, and how firmly
- Claim-mapping notes — the wording the evidence supports
- Full reference pack + a plain-English summary for non-scientists
Price & where it fits
One fixed price, confirmed in your proposal.
Where it sits in the journey: reach for a dossier when a Claims Compliance Audit flags a claim you refuse to drop, or to substantiate the hero ingredient from a Formulation Concept Sprint. It’s the “keep it, and prove it” option.
Who it’s for
Two moments this is built for.
You’ve been challenged
An ASA ruling, a retailer’s compliance gate, or a marketplace has asked you to substantiate a claim — and you need the evidence, fast and defensible.
You won’t drop your best claim
You have a selling point you believe in and don’t want to water down. A dossier tells you honestly whether the evidence holds — and how to phrase it so it does.
Questions
Good to know.
Does a dossier guarantee I can make the claim?
No. A dossier strengthens your position and shows exactly what’s defensible — but it isn’t regulatory authorisation. For food/supplement health claims, only wording on the EU/GB register is authorised; the dossier tells you how close your evidence gets and how to phrase a claim that stands up.
Will you tell me if the evidence is weak?
Yes — that’s the whole point. If the science won’t support the claim, I’ll say so plainly. An honest “this won’t hold” saves you from an ASA ruling or a retailer rejection; I won’t manufacture a case that isn’t there. That honesty is what makes the dossier worth showing to a regulator.
Is this the same as an EFSA health-claim submission?
No. A formal EFSA Article 13.5/14 dossier is large, costly, company-level work. This is the rigorous groundwork — what you need to defend marketing copy, satisfy a retailer, and know where a claim truly stands. If a formal submission is the right move, the dossier is the foundation for it.
How is this different from the Claims Compliance Audit?
The audit scans all your claims across a product for compliance. The dossier goes deep on a single claim or ingredient to build its evidence base. Many brands do an audit first, then a dossier for the one claim they’re determined to keep.
Do I need to share my formula?
No. A dossier is about a public ingredient or benefit and the published science behind it — your formulation stays yours.
