Science Retainer · Women’s-health products
Your product line keeps moving. So do the rules. Keep both in check — every month.
An ongoing science-and-claims partnership: monthly claims checks, fast input on new products and campaigns, and a watch on rule changes and your competitors — so compliance keeps pace with your brand instead of lagging behind it.
For brands shipping regularly — launching, reformulating and running campaigns often enough that one-off audits can’t keep up. Day-to-day work is on your public copy; no formula required.
Why it matters
Compliance isn’t a one-time fix — a single audit ages the moment you ship something new.
What it is
Your on-call claims-and-science partner — without hiring in-house.
Run new copy, a product idea, an ad, or an ingredient past me before it goes live, and I review, flag and rewrite it. I keep an eye on rule changes and your competitors, and give you a short monthly picture of where you stand. Predictable, fast expert cover — for the price of a fraction of a hire.
What’s included — and what isn’t
Clear scope, so you know exactly what you’re buying.
Included
- A set monthly allowance of claims checks & copy reviews
- Compliant rewrites, on demand within scope
- Pre-launch input on new products, campaigns and ad/influencer briefs
- A rule-change + competitor/ingredient watch for your range
- Priority turnaround — you’re not at the back of a project queue
- A short monthly summary: what changed, what’s flagged, what’s coming
Not included
- Unlimited work — a fair monthly scope is agreed up front
- Large one-off projects (full Formulation Sprints, deep Evidence Dossiers) — scoped separately, at a preferential retainer rate
- Legal advice
- Formal cosmetic safety sign-off (CPSR) — referred to a qualified assessor
The retainer keeps your everyday claims and copy compliant. Bigger builds slot in around it at member rates.
How it works
Simple to run — that’s the point.
Scoping call
Your product cadence, categories and markets. We agree the monthly scope and what a “check” covers.
Onboarding
A quick baseline pass so I know your range and current claims — and can move fast from day one.
Month to month
Send me copy, products, ads or ingredient questions. I review, flag and rewrite — and watch the rules for you.
Monthly check-in
A short summary of what changed, what’s flagged, and what’s coming down the regulatory pipe.
What you get
A regulatory brain on call.
Not a document — a standing relationship that keeps your brand compliant as it grows.
- Fast claims checks & compliant rewrites — within your monthly scope
- Pre-launch input on new products and campaigns, before they ship
- A rule-change & competitor watch tuned to your range
- A short monthly summary — what changed, what to fix, what’s next
- Priority access — quick questions answered quickly
Price & where it fits
Predictable monthly cover.
Where it sits in the journey: the home base after a one-off Claims Compliance Audit, Formulation Concept Sprint or Evidence Dossier — it keeps you compliant continuously instead of one product at a time.
Who it’s for
Two kinds of brand this fits.
You ship often
Frequent launches, reformulations and campaigns mean new claims all the time. Re-scoping a one-off audit for each one is too slow — you need someone on call.
You’re not ready to hire in-house
You need regulatory and scientific judgment on tap, but not a full-time salary. A retainer gives you the expertise for a fraction of the cost of a hire.
Questions
Good to know.
Is it unlimited?
No — we agree a fair monthly scope up front (for example, a set number of reviews or checks), so it’s predictable for both of us. If a month runs heavy, we flex sensibly; large one-off projects are scoped separately at a preferential member rate.
Why a 3-month minimum?
Compliance is ongoing, and the first month is mostly onboarding and baselining your range. Three months is where a retainer starts genuinely paying off — after that it’s rolling, month to month.
What counts as a “check”?
A claim review, a label or product-page review, an ad or influencer brief, an ingredient query — the everyday things you’d otherwise send out unchecked. We’ll define it clearly in your scope so there are no surprises.
Can you handle a big formulation or dossier within the retainer?
Those are separate deliverables — a Formulation Concept Sprint or an Evidence Dossier — but retainer clients get them at a preferential rate and with priority. The retainer covers your day-to-day; the bigger builds slot in around it.
Do I need to share my formula?
Only if you want formulation input. Day-to-day claims and copy work is on your public materials — your formulation stays yours.
